The Bebras Computing Challenge opens up the mind of students to computational thinking. With over 30 countries participating in this prestigious contest, Bebras aims to build future leaders, critical thinkers and problem solvers in our today’s world. Each participant gets 45 minutes to answer a set of multiple-choice questions that focus on computational and logical thinking. It is completed online in your own school or designated examination centers, and it shows to school and student how well their skills are developed. The National Mathematical Center, Abuja- Nigeria in line with its mandate hosts Bebras and facilitates the activities of Bebras in the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
How do my students participate?
You need to register your students at link after you have purchase the Olympiad form available at your school, state ministry of education or NMC facilitating team of your state. Note that this years challenge is strictly pen and paper type to be held at your state
What does my school need to facilitate this challenge ?
The only thing your school need for this years challenge is to purchase the Olympiad forms and fill it and wait for the examination date. You may also need connection to the Internet some computers, or tablets with Windows or Mac or Linux that students can use to practice before the actual challenge and to complete the challenge against next year.
Who should participate in this challenge?
It is recommended for students at junior and senior categories, because the objectives of the challenge is to discover the talented students across the country to select those that will represent Nigeria in the International Olympiad in Informatics. The tasks in this challenge start off relatively easy so that every student can participate and get something out of it.
When will the challenge be held?
There already is a practice challenge available for students that want to know what to expect at both junior and senior levels. The official challenge is scheduled to take place on 18th November, 2017 at all states across the country.
